Blue Sands offers beach cruiser bikes available for rent at the hotel to ride along the beach path and explore local wineries, the Funk Zone, Santa Barbara Wharf and Harbor, or to take to the Zoo. We can help you schedule whale watching trips and other outdoor adventure tours as well as providing local maps and hiking guides. There are also numerous other rental companies just a short walk away.
Relax at the Beach
Santa Barbara’s East Beach is directly across the street from The Blue Sands Inn. It offers casual beachside dining at The East Beach Grill, large sandy beaches, great swimming, beachfront barbeques and volleyball nets where tournaments and sand building contests are hosted every year.

For those who wish to make there own food or to picnic on the beach, Blue Sands is just one block south of Tri-county Produce: a local fresh foods and gourmet market featuring local produce, great wines, and health food. Trader Joe’s is also just ¼ of a mile up the road.
For more casual fare: The East Beach Grill, The Habit, and East Beach Tacos are all within a block from the hotel.
For the Foodie and Gourmet you are in for a treat: Just feet from the Blue Sands is Convivo Restaurant which offers wood-fired pizzas, creative and fresh mediterranean cuisine, and an excellent Happy Hour. Just a short bike ride or a leisurely walk from the hotel you can find excellent seafood at The Fish House or at the Harbor Restaurant on the Wharf. Just past the Fish house is Santa Barbara’s famed Funk Zone with dozens of tasting rooms, breweries, and some of the best and most sophisticated food in town.
